Power Plants and Substations

Fewer trips missed and fewer site visits: instruments, breakers and boundaries watched around the clock from the plant's existing cameras, with the control room seeing what needs attention first.

What It Does

From the site's existing cameras, with every alert and its snapshot sent to the right person.

Gauges, breaker lamps and trips

Analogue pressure and temperature gauges read with alarm ranges; breaker and panel lamps read on camera, with an alert on a trip and running time of pumps and fans.

Fire and smoke early warning

Flames and smoke spotted on camera in coal yards, on conveyors and in cable galleries - alongside, never instead of, certified fire detection.

Perimeter and switchyard

Person, vehicle and animal intrusion along long boundaries and into switchyards, by schedule; monkeys, leopards and cattle are recognised as animals rather than as people.

Theft of equipment and cable

Alerts when monitored equipment, cable drums or panels are removed or moved, and when someone loiters near stores at night.

PPE and safe work

Helmet and vest, with ear protection in turbine halls and harnesses for work at height where required; fall alerts - confirmed on site footage during the Proof of Concept.

Trucks and control room

Number-plate register for coal, ash and fuel trucks with time on site and overstay alerts; an alerts-first video wall with a standard procedure for every alert.

What You Gain

  • Trips and alarms acted on at once; equipment running hours on record
  • Gauges and breaker lamps read without manual rounds
  • Early warning of fire in coal yards, conveyors and cable galleries
  • Intruders, theft and animals stopped at the boundary

What We Need on Site

  • Panel and breaker lamps visible to a camera, about 10 pixels per lamp or more; gauges framed with their scale
  • Boundary and switchyard cameras with IR or lighting for night
  • For PPE, people at least about 120 pixels tall in the picture
  • A lane camera framed on the number plate at the gate
  • A server sized by us for the cameras and analytics chosen, confirmed during the Proof of Concept

Built, and Offered as a Pilot Pilot

Built and running, and offered as a pilot on your own cameras.

Digital panel meters

Numeric LED and LCD displays read on camera, with an alert when a value stays outside its range. Commissioned only after a validation on the site's own cameras.

Steam or smoke plumes

An alert when a visible plume of steam or smoke appears in a drawn area round a valve, vent or pipe. The area must be lit. Commissioned only after a validation on the site's own cameras.

Drones overhead

Alerts when a drone flies over the site; birds, aircraft and helicopters are ignored. Daylight only; the range depends on the lens. Free during the trial. Commissioned only after a validation on the site's own cameras.
